SPRING SEASON • The Great Estate Festival • Sicilian Feasts

Thanks to all who joined us at our  very first Festival Wild Wine Club at the brand new Great Estate Festival at Scorrier House. We had the luxury of a roof (well, with a few missing roof tiles)  in the Old Horse Shed - which hasn't been used for horses for many years - and the perfect setting for our long table banquet. Debbie chose the Sicilian theme for all three sittings, with a Fish Feast, Meat Feast and a Sicilian inspired Sunday Lunch... all three menu's designed around Sicilian wines. SPRING SEASON • By the Boathouse • Guest Chef Emily Scott

Boat Bay, nestled to the far end of Harlyn Bay, was the most stunning setting for our May wild adventure. The bay is an old pilchard fishing site, where Cornishman Mark Hellyar's family resided for many generations.  For this Spring Wild Wine Club, we teamed up with chef Emily Scott, who produced a beautiful five-course feast with ingredients from the sea, a menu co-designed with Debbie to match the Maritime wines of Chateau Civrac. The spring sunshine provided a real holiday feel, sipping wine with our toes in the sand...  ABOUT THE WINES Chateau Civrac is a winery in Bordeaux where Cornishman Mark Hellyar spends a large portion of his year making a range of modern and innovative natural wines. We were lucky enough to welcome Mark...

SPRING SEASON • Amongst the Ruins • Wines of the Loire

Our first Wild Wine Club of 2017 was a wonderful adventure.  We were joined by a lovely group of people, who came as strangers and left as friends.  We started the evening off wandering the grounds and enjoying our first course in the sunshine with a lovely sparkling wine. Debbie shared her extensive knowledge of the wines she had selected for the evening.  We meandered the grounds for our second wine, which we enjoyed near the estate's original ice cellar.  The impressive Fir Hill Estate provided a stunning wild environment. We made our way up to the candle-lit long table, where chef Adam Banks and Andi Richardson were cooking up the rest of their wood fired feast.  Wine flowed and laughter...

Part One "By the Sea"

And so the adventures begin... I'm pretty excited to share some highlights from the very first Wild Wine Club. For my first wild offering I teamed up with an old friend and chef from my days at Fifteen Cornwall, Adam Banks. With the help of Cornish chef Natasha Osbourne, Adam created a five-course feast around ingredients from the sea that I'd chosen to pair with each wine. The wines that provided inspiration for the food and the location were all from Chateau Civrac, located in the iconic maritime region of Bordeaux. We enjoyed the wines against a stunning backdrop of the sea, surf and rugged cliffs at Whipsiderry beach and we were treated to one jaw dropping Cornish sunset.   About the Wines Chateau Civrac is a winery in Bordeaux where Cornishman Mark...
